Fangirl Favorites Sweep the 2011 Creative Arts Emmys

Creative Arts Emmys HBO shows swept the 2011 Creative Arts Emmys last night with a total of 15 wins. The big winner was Fickle Fangirl favorite, Boardwalk Empire. Unlike the televised Emmys, the Creative Arts awards focus on the technical craft and behind the scenes work that goes into making all of our favorite shows. These people don't often get enough credit, so it is nice to see them take home so many awards.

Boardwalk Empire won for:
Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series
Outstanding Makeup for a Single-Camera Series (Non-Prosthetic)
Outstanding Art Direction for a Single-Camera Series
Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Drama Series
Outstanding Special Visual Effects for a Series
Outstanding Sound Editing for a Series
Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series

HBO Miniseries Mildred Pierce won for:
Outstanding Casting for a Miniseries, Movie or Special
Outstanding Musical Composition for a Miniseries, Movie or Special (Original Dramatic Score)
Outstanding Art Direction for a Miniseries or Movie

Game of Thrones won for:
Outstanding Main Title Design

If this is any indication of the results for the Primetime Emmys ceremony, it's going to be an exciting time next Sunday for the fangirls. Make sure to join us here at ficklefangirl.com at 8PM Eastern for our live chat during the show.
